Bent left arm

the function of the left arm is to work in conjunction with the right arm, in applying the club flexibly to the ball. If we take the swing from the start of the downswing; the left arm may appear straight at this point, and the muscles may indicate a degree of tension. However the left arm is neither rigid nor extended to its maximum. The left arm only reaches its full degree of tension and extension at impact point. Until this last moment there must be flexibility in the left arm as well as the right. By trying to keep the arm straight faults of tension, lack of power and bending the arm in the downswing to obtain speed will be seen.
