The Right Advice

It takes a great deal of experience and practice to improve and aquire self-confidence for playing
As a young trainee professional, my mentor ,Jack Coogan PGA professional once told me to give attention to improving my short game to the point where I knew I could get down in 2 shots from any situation.
From this practice my long irons and woods became more accurate. Because I was no longer dominated by the fear of missing the green with my approach shot, this self confidence removed the psychological shortcomings in my long game.
In golf, confidence is the result of good technique, hard work (with a qualified PGA professional), repeating your successes and choosing attainable goals.
Three weeks after this advice I won my first Pro/Am.
